Elliot Farmer, 17, is a senior goalkeeper from Albuquerque, NM, and currently plays for the Real Salt Lake Academy U-18 team at the Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Ariz. Grande Sports World is a sports academy that houses both the Real Salt Lake U-18 and U-16 academy teams. Farmer attends the Mission Heights Preparatory School in Casa Grande. The Real Salt Lake U-18's is currently coached by Martin Vasquez, assistant coach Freddie Jaurez and goalkeeper coach John Galas. The team is currently in its second season competing in the US Soccer Developmental League.
Before moving to Casa Grande, Farmer attended Saint Pius X high school in Albuquerque, NM where he played for the Rio Vista United '94s and St. Pius X High School varsity team. In 2007, Famer was on the New Mexico State ODP team and participated in the regional camp in Oregon. He was an automatic ODP selection for travelling squad and was a three year starter for St. Pius and led his team to the 2008 4-AAAA state championship. He allowed just one goal during those four state tournament games. In 2010, Farmer attended the Notre Dame soccer camp and The University of New Mexico soccer camp for the second straight year. Both years at the UNM camp, Farmer was selected to play in the camp all-star game. His junior year at St. Pius, Farmer was placed on the All-District 1st Team, All-State Honorable Mention team and All-Metro 1st Team. In his final club season in 2010, Farmer won the 2010 state cup with Rio Vista United '94s. He did not allow a goal in his five games during the tournament as his team advance to the Region IV Championships in Boise, Idaho.
Depending on offers, Farmer will be attending a Division I university in the fall of 2012, or will choose to attend Grande Sports World and play for Real Salt Lake U-18's for one more season and enter college in 2013.
Farmer has recently received a letters of interest from the University of Notre Dame, Duke University, UC Irvine, UCSB, Loyola Marymount University, University of Washington, Georgetown University, University of San Francisco, University of Rhode Island and Loyola University Maryland soccer programs.
